Privacy Policy
This policy describes what Cross State Payroll collects when you use this site, and what it deliberately doesn’t. It describes what the site actually does today — not what a template says a privacy policy should say.
Your payroll figures never leave your browser
Every calculation on this site runs entirely in your own browser. The wages, employee counts, state selections, grouping status and contractor flags you enter into the calculator are held in the page’s memory while you use it, and are discarded when you close the tab.
They are never transmitted to a server, never written to a database, and never logged — not ours, not anyone else’s. There is no account to create and no submit step. The calculator sends no network request at all, so there is nothing on our side to store, breach or hand over. If you close the tab, your figures are gone.
The one exception is the enquiry form described below, which you have to fill in and submit yourself.
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and how they arrive here. It collects:
- Pages viewed and the order they were viewed in
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address — typically city or region level
- Device and browser information, such as screen size, operating system and browser version
- How you reached the site, such as a search engine, a link on another site, or a direct visit
Google Analytics does not receive anything you type into the calculator. It records that a page was viewed, not what you entered on it. We use these reports in aggregate to decide what to build and write next; we don’t use them to try to identify individual visitors.
Google processes this data as our analytics provider and under its own terms. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
The enquiry form
After a calculation, the site may offer a short form for getting help with your situation. It is entirely optional — the calculator works fully without it. If you choose to submit it, you give us:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your business name
- The state or states you pay wages in
- Your estimated annual wages, as a figure you type yourself
Note that this is the one place a wage figure can leave your browser, and only because you entered it into the form and pressed send. Your calculator inputs are not attached to the submission or pre-filled into it.
Submissions are delivered by a third-party form processing provider, which handles the submission on our behalf and passes it to us by email. That provider processes the data under its own privacy terms. We use what you send only to respond to your enquiry. We don’t sell it, and we don’t add you to a marketing list from this form.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies of its own. It has no login, no session and no preference cookies.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser — typically _ga and a _ga_-prefixed cookie for this property — used to distinguish one visitor from another and to recognise returning visits.
You can opt out of this in any of the following ways:
- Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which blocks Analytics across every site you visit
- Block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings
- Use a content blocker or a browser that blocks analytics scripts by default — the calculator works normally with Analytics blocked
Blocking analytics costs you nothing on this site. No feature depends on it.
Contacting us about your data
If you’ve sent us an enquiry and want a copy of it, want it corrected, or want it deleted, email info@treesera.com and we’ll action it. Because calculator inputs are never collected, there is no calculator data to request or delete — we never had it.
General questions about this policy can go to the same address, or via the contact page.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
